About Church of Christ New Plymouth
The Church of Christ New Plymouth is one of many congregations of Christians world-wide that collectively make up the church of Christ which Jesus himself established and died for, as detailed in the New Testament. We follow the New Testament and teach exactly what the Bible teaches.
We are a community of believers that exists to...
"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" | John 4:24 |
Jesus said, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself' | Matthew 22:37 |
All those we encounter to grow in the attributes of Jesus by equipping, teaching and serving, and to experience the transforming power of Jesus | Ephesians 4:11-16 |
To all in need with the comfort of Jesus, offering support, service and involvement | 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 |
We are a diverse group of Christians who are passionate about God and His word and seek to serve God with all our hearts. Our desire is to please our Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ, who said: "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Our goal is to be more and more like Him, and to love like He loves, not only in the church family, but also all those around us who are lost and hurting. We believe in the authority of scripture and its relevance for our lives today. We believe in the church universal but also in the importance of being involved with a local body of believers who love, share, and build each other up. We strongly believe in the value of all God’s children.
We meet together often for study, worship, and encouragement. We believe worship continues apart from regular meeting times, demonstrated in lives that are devoted to honouring our Father by being Jesus to the world around us today—lives full of love, service, and sacrifice.
